Die Glocke, The Kecksburg Incident And Nazi UFO Technology?
Since the end of World War II there have been numerous, theories and in some cases actual “accounts” that have stated the Third Reich under Adolf Hitler were working to back engineer alien technology so as to gain a significant advantage over the Allies.
Why wouldn’t they, right? Well, really, why wouldn’t they?
Of course we know they were not ultimately successful if they were doing this, at least not in terms of being victorious in the Second World War, but there are plenty of interesting things to look at and plenty of questions to be asked. The German army was so far advanced than most as war broke out in 1939. They had given the world a brief preview of this military might three years earlier.

The "Otherworldly" Strength Of The Nazi Regime
As the Spanish Civil War broke out in 1936, Hitler wasted little time in offering, albeit limited, support to the Nationalists. While you would imagine the Third Reich would have genuinely been sympathetic to their cause, it was an opportunity many said, to demonstrate and indeed “test” their new military weapons and technology, which was by far superior to anything else on the planet at the time.
It seemed that Germany was not only ahead of the world militarily, they also had some of the top scientists and academics under their wing, and they encouraged them to basically “do their thing!”
So was it funding alone that helped accelerate progress under the Third Reich, or did they have “help?”
It is said that a UFO crash landed in Germany’s Black Forest near Frieberg in 1936 and was recovered by SS troops shortly afterwards. The object was allegedly taken to Wewelsberg Castle, the main headquarters of the Third Reich, where their top scientists worked to back-engineer it and find ways to use the technology to their advantage. Coincidentally or not, in 1938, the Germans had plans and blue prints for their very own saucer shaped vehicle which was called the Haunebu and which used a form of anti-gravity propulsion.
There were also other significant advances made.
The V-1 and V-2 rockets were just two further testaments to how far ahead Germany and the Third Reich actually were. Some point to the possibility of more funding to develop ideas, but some question whether they had other “help” in developing their ideas. There were known connections with the Vril Society for example and many prominent figures in the Nazi party had known interests in the Occult and the so called dark arts.

The Rights, Wrongs, And Secrets Of Operation Paperclip
In the immediate months after the end of the Second World War, many German scientists and "thinking" professionals were essentially “recruited” by the American and Soviet governments. The American side of this is referred to as Operation Paperclip.
The main reasons for this, aside from each side not wanting the minds of these brilliant scientists in the control of their “enemies”, was each wanted to ensure that Germany did not once again develop such a strong military or dictatorship and to maintain peace in Europe. One of the most notable of these is perhaps Wernher von Braun, who was eventually the main drive behind NASA’s space program and largely the reason that the Moon Landings happened. All had been developed from Von Braun's V-2 rocket.
Von Braun is an interesting man who an article, indeed books, could be written about in his own right. It has been up for debate as to what his true personal ideology was in relation to the Nazi party, and whether he had in fact been “made” to join the regime. One thing is certain, he was not involved in any political activity and was there purely as a scientist and rocket developer.
In 1947 he told the US War Department (of his involvement with the Nazi Party), “In spring 1940, one SS-Standartenfuehrer (SS-colonel) Mueller from Greifswald, a bigger town in the vicinity of Peenemünde, looked me up in my office and told me, that Reichsfuehrer SS Himmler had sent him with the order to urge me to join the SS. I told him I was so busy with my rocket work that I had no time to spare for any political activity. He then told me, that the SS would cost me no time at all. I would be awarded the rank of an "Untersturmfuehrer" (lieutenant) and it was a very definite desire of Himmler that I attend his invitation to join. I asked Mueller to give me some time for reflection. He agreed. Realizing that the matter was of highly political significance for the relation between the SS and the Army, I called immediately on my military superior, Dr. Dornberger. He informed me that the SS had for a long time been trying to get their "finger in the pie" of the rocket work. I asked him what to do. He replied on the spot that if I wanted to continue our mutual work, I had no alternative but to join.”

This does seem reasonable. Van Braun was even arrested by the Nazis in 1943 accused of being a communist who was purposely stalling progress on weapons and projects. He was eventually released.
As the war was coming to an end and Von Braun surrendered to the Americans he stated his reasons to the press as to why he had done so in light of his development of the V-2 rocket.
“We knew that we had created a new means of warfare, and the question as to what nation, to what victorious nation we were willing to entrust this brainchild of ours was a moral decision more than anything else. We wanted to see the world spared another conflict such as Germany had just been through, and we felt that only by surrendering such a weapon to people who are guided by the Bible could such an assurance to the world be best secured,” Von Braun stated.

Secret Weapons Programs As The War Effort Failed
So where did all that knowledge come from?
How the Nazis were depicted in the Indiana Jones film series in the run up to and indeed during the Second World War in terms of them scouring the globe looking for ancient treasures is very much true. Possibly through the Vril Society's influence, who very much believed in UFOs and ancient technology, they seemed to have a keen interest in ancient items and writings, in particular ancient Indian Sanskrit These writings it is rumoured contained ancient information on what was ultimately how to make an atomic bomb. We know Germany was very close to achieving this during the war and had they done so there is a little doubt as to what the outcome would have been.
Suddenly though they stopped funding this project for no apparent reason. It was thought that the war effort was finally catching up with the regime financially, or maybe there was internal sabotage by those coming to realise the true horros of the Third Reich. However a book released over fifty years after the Second World War was over, put forward a different theory as to why.

However a book released over fifty years after the Second World War was over, put forward a different theory as to why.
Polish author Igor Witkowski brought the theory of Nazi “secret” weapons and in particular, Die Glocke, sometimes referred to as The Nazi Bell, to the public attention in his 2000 book “The Truth About The Wonder Weapon” (Prawda o Wunderwaffe).
In the book, Witkowski claimed he had read and translated transcripts from Nazi SS officer, Jakob Sporrenberg. Witkowski claimed that he had access to these files through an unnamed source from the Polish intelligence community, and that while he was allowed to see them and translate them, he was not allowed to make copies of them.
Witkowski stated that The Nazi Bell was constructed and worked on at a facility called Der Riese (The Giants), close to the Czech border, in Poland, near the Wenceslaus Mine.
It is said the dimensions for Die Glocke were impressive to say the least, standing at between 12 to 15 feet high, measuring 9 feet across and was made of a very “hard and heavy” metal. It was shaped very much like a bell, hence the name, and there were said to be strange ancient-type hieroglyphics around the base of it.
Die Glocke was said to use anti-gravity technology that used two counter-rotating cylinders which would be filled with a violet “mercury-like” substance. Witkowski stated that this substance was called “Xerum 525” and it was “stored in a tall thin thermos flask” which was “a meter high and encased in lead.”
When activated Die Glocke had an “effect zone” of up to 200 metres and anything within this zone would be “greatly affected.”
It is claimed that blood would gel and separate, and crystals would form in animal tissue, while plants would decompose completely and immediately into a “grease-like” substance. Apparently, of the seven original scientists who began work on the project, it is claimed that five died during various tests.

Die Glocke was supposedly housed underground, under “The Henge” and a shaft was opened during live experiments as The Bell would levitate off the ground. It was chained to the concrete posts of The Henge so as to limit it’s levitation. It should be noted that some mainstream historians claim that The Henge is nothing more than the remains of a cooling tower.
Some even go as far as to say that Die Glocke had “mirror-type” material in the interior that, when the Bell was activated would show visions of the past, and that through the anti-gravity technology the vessel could even warp space and time (as per Einstein’s famous theory) and travel in time.
Based on Einstein’s theory it would seem that travelling into the past would be more difficult than the future due to the need of having to bend space and time in order to go backwards. However, comparatively speaking, going forward should be easier, as it is based on moving forward so fast that time slows down around you and you arrive in the future. Given that had the Germans managed to travel back in time they would have undoubtedly altered history so the war turned in their favour, we can realistically rule out that scenario, but what about the future? Could they have managed that?
OK, so where did it go? And are these time travel theories just wild fantasy?
Witkowski himself claimed that Die Glocke ended up in a “friendly” South American country along with the project’s leader Hans Kammler. Indeed there are many stories of leading Nazi party members escaping to South America, some recent ones even stating that Hitler himself escaped there and lived out his days quietly and unnoticed by almost everyone.
Some though, claim that Kammler, who it was alleged had agreed to defect to the Americans before the end of the war, had used Die Glocke to escape. It wasn’t where he escaped to though, but when?
OK, so here’s the link, but before we look at that, check out the videos below that look at the Nazi Bell as well as other Nazi technology.

The Kecksburg Incident - Pennsylvania, The United States, 1965
On 9th December 1965 what was described as a large fireball was seen by thousands of people across six US states, eventually coming to a halt in woods in Kecksburg, Pennsylvania, a small town approximately 30 miles south of Pittsburgh.
It was thought initially that the object was a meteor, but closer to the site of the crash itself it became seemingly apparent that it was something else.
Witnesses stated that they saw the object land in the woods and that it appeared to be moving erratically instead of simply crashing to earth. They also stated that a loud “thud” could be felt and heard upon what was perceived to be impact with the ground.
Civilians as well as members of the local volunteer fire department were the first to arrive at the scene and later reported that they saw an acorn or bell shaped object buried into the ground where it had crash landed. They also noted that there seemed to be strange “Egyptian-type” hieroglyphics around the base of the object, and that it was the size of a small car.
These were all very similar characteristics of the so-called Die Glocke.
Out of nowhere there was said to be a sudden military presence at the scene of the crash – mainly, but not exclusively US military. They immediately sealed off and secured the area and ordered civilians to go home. They then claimed a very short while later that a search of the area had been conducted and that nothing had been found.
Some people however later reported that they could clearly see an object that resembled the shape of a bell being taken away from the area on a flatbed truck.
The local Tribune newspaper published a story the next day stating that a UFO had crashed in the woods, but then ran a story a short while after claiming that nothing had in fact been found.
Many civilians in Kecksburg were gobsmacked at was going on around them. They knew what they had seen. Not least of which was a local radio station news reporter with WHJB, John Murphy.

The Suspicious Treatment Of John Murphy
Murphy managed to interview several of the other witnesses who had also ventured into the woods and take several photographs before the military arrived. However all but one roll of film were ultimately confiscated by the US forces.
WHJB manager Michael Mazza claimed that he did indeed see one of the pictures that Murphy had taken and that although it “was very dark and with a lot of trees in the way”, he felt he saw something that definitely looked “cone-shaped.”
Murphy was said to become quite obsessed with the story and wrote a radio show called “Object in the Woods” based on his experience and further, more extensive investigation in the days and weeks after the event.
However, before the show could air, Murphy was visited by two men dressed in dark suits who claimed they were “government officials” who needed to speak with him – this was witnessed and verified by WHJB employee, Linda Foschia. She later said that the men spoke alone with Murphy in an office room in the building for around thirty minutes, taking with them audio tapes and photographs when they left.
Murphy did air his radio show, but it was an edited version that both Mazza and Murphy’s wife stated was “nothing like the original version.”
It was said that John Murphy was very agitated after the experience and very withdrawn over the following years. In February 1969, a little over three years since the incident, Murphy was killed in an apparent hit-and-run while on holiday in California.
The Kecksburg crash is still today officially regarded as “absolutely nothing.”
Some claimed that what they had seen was a Soviet Space Probe that had been intended for Venus but instead had fallen back down to Earth. Others claimed it was government experiments, while others needed little prompting to shout that it was visitors from another world. All agreed though, it was something.

Years later, others had another theory.
While there were no links made to Die Glocke at the time, upon the release of Witkowski’s book in 2000 one was soon established, especially given that Operation Paperclip was very real and Hans Kammler, the man in charge of Die Glocke had simply vanished.
Had he indeed defected and taken Die Glocke and the technology with him? Was the Kecksburg UFO crash the result of testing it on American Soil? Or had Hans Kammler escaped the ruins of the Second World War by using Die Glocke to go forward in time, coming out 20 years later in the United States? Had the US military “recovered” him and worked him into Operation Paperclip as originally intended?
All interesting questions, no doubt! And I am sure there will be more to come.
One thing is widely accepted though. You can argue that the “modern world” in which a lot of us now live and enjoy was “invented” under the Third Reich in the run up to and during World War II. The Americans in particular, technology wise, have simply carried on their work.
Check out the videos below. The first looks at possible links between the Nazi Bell and the Kecksburg crash, while the second is an interview with the aforementioned Igor Witkowski.
